These images are soooo cool to me. Everything from the inspiration in color, to the catsuits, to the power, to the attitude....ahhh i just love it. I used to read comics a lot when I was a lil girl so the imagery hits close to home. Oh and of course...it's all further research towards the BUTCH DIVA comic book series...you didn't think I forgot about that did you! :)

ART STUDIES >>> EGON SCHIELE

I was first put onto Schiele's work while studying at FIT. I signed up for a class called 'Art in New York', and every week we would visit a new museum and be responsible for journal entries on what we saw and the experience. Egon Schiele's work was by far one of my favs once the semester was over.. I fell in love with how he portrayed a particular ambiance in a painting, and his use of color - loved the suddellness of it, and the jagged lines that added so much more detail to the figures and their mood. Schiele has a very classic yet rugged style to his brush stroke...ahhh- inspiration is everything.














"Schiele's work is noted for its intensity, and the many self-portraits the artist produced. The twisted body shapes and the expressive line that characterize Schiele's paintings and drawings mark the artist as an early exponent of Expressionism, although still strongly associated with the art nouveau movement." - Source
