While surfing the web a few weeks ago, I first came across one of Miss Van's pieces and posted it as inspiration, at the time however I didn't know who she was or what she stood for and posted her work as "title and artist unknown". only to find a comment the next morning posted by one of my readers putting me on to a link in which I was able to familiarize myself. Needless to say, I took the time to look up more of her work and I've been smitten ever since!!!
Miss Van is one of the most prominent and recognizable painters from the Toulouse graffiti scene, not to mention one of the best female street artists worldwide. Her sassy, fluid ladies with attitude have an expressive, painterly edge that sets her apart from typical graffiti style. Her works, usually exclusively of women - are all about flirtation, dreams and the body. She has exhibited in galleries in Paris, New York and across Europe.
