Talk about being in Renaissance Woman mode!!! There was definately the expected chaos of putting on a fashion show in such short notice, but I think it's fair to say that after putting on so many and participating in all the challenges of shows in the past, I'm pretty accustomed to it. You won't find a drop of sweat or frantic shake here!!!!
After spending over an hour fitting all the models in the restaurant's bathroom, I proceeded to the front where there was more light and room to squat to do their makeup. With Labor Day weekend ahead and carnival taking place, it was only right I styled the makeup accodingly. So rhinstones and feathers placed around the eye was the festive solution. Sticking with the carnival inspiration, the theory was 'out with the old and in with the new'. I showcased some older BUTCH DIVA favorites, and then introduced sneak peeks from the new collection, featuring lots of bright metallic spandex, flourescent color, and body hugging silhouettes, that were sure to get a few jaws droppin!
In the end, all the last minute assistance from BUTCH DIVA veteran Krystle, roomate Tamara, and friends that showed up just in time to help with loose ends was greatly appreciated!! The models had a ball, I managed to get through it, and all the feedback from the crowd was nothing short of inspiring!
Special thanks to Alanzo - Mr. Minority Report himself for granting me the opportunity to showcase the latest and greatest from BUTCH DIVA. Where there is a will, there is a way - and we made it happen!!
